Equestrian Map for the Arboretum

ACTEA has also been working with the Arboretum to make it less stressful for horse riders to find their way around the tracks and trails of the Arboretum. We now have our very own Equestrian MAP showing where it is recommended that horses travel to get through on the BNT, do a loop ride on the firetrails or get to the horses yards. It will also help you find water for your horse. This map is also included in a new brochure that outlines the rules for taking a horse into the Arboretum which will go up on their web page. You should be able to pick up a hard copy at the visitors centre when you get your coffee. The web page now tells cyclist to give way to horses!

Horses are welcome

  • on all unsealed roads (fire trails) throughout the Arboretum

  • on the wide, cleared alleys between each forest

  • along the Bicentennial National Trail (BNT).

You still cannot park a horse float in the Arboretum but we are working on that. It is an easy ride over the River from Equestrian Park.
