Thursday 9 June will be the ACT Equestrian Association Annual General Meeting. The venue will be 7:30-9:30 at the Weston Club at Liardet Street, Weston, ACT. We will present awards for the previous year’s Young Riders and Volunteers and elect a new Committee for 2017. All members of the equestrian community are welcome to attend. Several Committee positions will become vacant this year and ACTEA is looking for interested members of the equestrian community to commit a little of their time to ensuring we all continue to have great riding facilities in this city. The government relies on ACTEA as its conduit to horse riders and there is lots to do in many parts of the Territory.
The ACTEA Constitution requires that Delegates of Affiliates of the Association elect a:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
and at least three Ordinary Committee Members.
This year we are looking for a Minute Secretary, an Assistant Secretary, trails advocates and a web master. We can also use anyone who has experience writing submissions to and negotiating with government. If everyone does a bit no one has to do a lot. ACTEA meets 7:30-9:30 on the second Thursday of every month.
The ACTEA Committee puts in an enormous effort on behalf of equestrians every year and would like to see a good roll up of affiliates to the AGM and in particular to elect the next Committee. Affiliates must be financial to be able to vote at the AGM. If you haven’t paid your 2016 fees please contact Beth Stone at bstone@webone.com.au to organise that.
