Anyone trying to ride to Equestrian Park at the moment will realiae that it is getting increasingly perilous. Huon have conceded that the work around the new bridge will make it impossible to use the underpass on weekdays for some time and have begun work on installing a rider activated signalised crossing of the Cotter Road. This requires the preparation of a Temporary Traffic Management Plan so will take a couple of weeks but the plan at the moment is to install a crossing at the entrance to Yarralumla Paddocks in the first instance while the area around the bridge continues to be busy. Later the crossing will be moved directly opposite the gate to Equestrian Park. This means the original plan for a crossing at McCulloch Street will not proceed.
